Location and Directions
Finding Us
The Department of Philosophy is located on the third floor of the Humanities Building on the University of Louisville's Belknap Campus. The main office of the department is Room 310.
Step-by-Step Directions
- Enter the University of Louisville's main entrance at 2301 S 3rd St.
- Follow the loop around The Oval toward Grawemeyer Hall.
- You will see the West Information Center on your right, just before Grawemeyer Hall. Stop here to request a visitor parking pass.
- After obtaining your pass, proceed to the visitor parking lot.
- From the parking lot, head north on foot, passing Grawemeyer Hall and the iconic Thinker Statue.
- Continue north along the path until you reach Ford Hall on your right.
- Turn right (east) immediately after Ford Hall, continuing past Gardiner Hall until you reach Gottschalk Hall.
- The Bingham Humanities Building faces Gottschalk Hall: it is a large, three-story glass and concrete structure. Enter through the main doors (west side) on the ground floor.
Parking Information
Visitor parking is available with a pass obtained from the West Information Center. Please ensure you display your visitor pass clearly in your vehicle to avoid any parking citations.
Accessibility
The Humanities Building is wheelchair accessible from the west entrance (facing the Quad). If you require any special accommodations, please contact our office in advance of your visit, and we'll be happy to assist you.
