Finding Us
The Department of Sociology is on the southeast side of UofL's Belknap Campus in Lutz Hall, easily accessible from the east and southeast sides of campus. Lutz Hall – shared with Fine Arts, Anthropology, and Geographic and Environmental Sciences – is distinguished by its large glass archway and its patio overlooking the quad and the 2020 Pavilion.
From the Floyd Street Parking Garage (visitor lot)
- Walk south toward University Boulevard and head west, crossing the railroad tracks, and follow to Brook Street.
- At that intersection, walk directly ahead into the round-about; Lutz Hall is the four-story brick building on the other side of the circle.
- Enter from the north or south side – the Department of Sociology is on the first floor (east wing), past the water fountain.
Accessible Parking
Enter campus at the southeast entrance (University Boulevard at Floyd Street) and follow University Boulevard across the railroad tracks to Brook Street. Turn left, then immediately right up the unmarked road; accessible parking is at the top of the hill on the right. Lutz Hall is on the right, and the department is on the first floor to the right, past the water fountain.
