Join the Geographic & Environmental Sciences Department

It starts – and for our BS tracks, ends – with admission to UofL. There’s no portfolio, audition or separate departmental application: once you’re admitted, you can declare an Applied Geography major and get moving. Special programs have their own paths: the Applied Geospatial Technologies certificate follows the process outlined in the Undergraduate Catalog, and the accelerated BS/MS runs through the Soaring Scholars program.

Affordability Matters

UofL's Cardinal Commitment Grant narrows the gap between scholarships/financial aid and the cost of attendance. Students who receive a Pell Grant, CAP Grant and KEES will have 100% of their tuition covered. Other awards range from $2,000 to $7,000. Pursue your creative dreams without the worry of mounting college debt.

Transfer Students

The Department of Geographic and Environmental Sciences welcomes transfer students! We follow the standard university procedure for transfer credits across all our programs and work with you to determine how your previous coursework applies.
