History and Mission

Founded in 1907, the College of Arts and Sciences has a proud tradition of academic excellence spanning over a century. From our humble beginnings in a converted private home to our current status as UofL's largest academic unit, we've remained committed to providing a top-tier liberal arts education.

Today, as in 1907, we remain dedicated to:
