Students in the BS Chemistry, BA Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Chemistry Business tracks may apply undergraduate research toward degree electives.

- Courses completed
- Preferred research timeframe
- Whether you want a short-term or long-term project
The Society of Undergraduate Chemistry Students (SUCS) is a student-led organization that supports chemistry majors as they prepare for research. SUCS hosts faculty talks, peer mentoring, skill-building workshops, and community events that help students explore research areas, learn about faculty labs, and feel confident reaching out to potential mentors. Joining SUCS is an easy way for new researchers to connect with experienced students and become part of the department’s active learning and research community.

- At the Health Sciences Campus
- At partner institutions
- Through approved summer research programs
Faculty may require weekly lab hours, periodic meetings, data recordkeeping, and a final project summary or written report depending on your course section.
