How to apply

Apply to the Graduate School

All applicants submit the following through the Graduate School application portal:

  • Completed application and $65 fee
  • Official transcripts from all institutions attended
  • Two letters of recommendation addressing your academic and/or artistic achievements

Submit Program-Specific Materials

MFA applicants: Submit the following via SlideRoom ($10 fee):

  • Portfolio of 20 images demonstrating conceptual and technical skills
  • Artist's Statement (500 words max)
  • Statement of Intent (500 words max) outlining your educational and professional goals
  • Résumé (2 pages max)

MA applicants: Submit the following through the Graduate School portal:

  • Statement of Purpose (500 words) outlining your goals in Art History or Curatorial Studies
  • Writing sample (typically an advanced Art History paper)
