Why Our Graduate Program
Founded in 2002, the PhD program in Applied and Industrial Mathematics trains the future researchers and teachers of mathematics and its applications. Graduate students work with faculty in cryptography, mathematical biology, fluid dynamics, statistics and data science, and pure mathematics, gain teaching experience through graduate teaching assistantships, and can earn elective credit for mathematics-related internships with regional businesses and industries.
How to Apply
Admission to the MA and PhD programs requires admission to the Graduate School and approval by the department’s graduate studies committee. Decisions are based on performance in undergraduate coursework and recommendations from qualified faculty. Admission deadlines follow the university schedule; applications for graduate teaching assistant positions must be received by April 15. Questions?
