The University of Louisville School of Music and the College of Arts & Sciences     Department of Theatre Arts Presents Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s, Into the Woods for three special performances in March.

Blending classic fairy tales with sharp wit and emotional depth, Into the Woods weaves together the stories of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (of beanstalk fame), and a Baker and his Wife on a quest to break a witch’s curse. What begins as a playful journey into familiar folklore soon transforms into a moving exploration of wish fulfillment, responsibility, and the cost of “happily ever after.”

This university production features a cast of student performers from across campus disciplines, supported by the University Symphony Orchestra and an imaginative design team. The production embraces both the enchantment and the intimacy of the piece, highlighting the emotional complexity beneath its fairy-tale surface.

Directed by Michael Ramach and music direction by Kimcherie Lloyd, the production invites audiences of all ages to venture into the woods — and perhaps see themselves along the way.

Performance Dates: March 20-22

Location: The Belknap Playhouse, 1911 S 3rd St Louisville, KY 40208

Ticket Prices: $25 for General Admission, $10 for Seniors, and University Faculty, Staff, and Students
