Affordability Matters
UofL's Cardinal Commitment Grant narrows the gap in college expenses and helps you receive the financial aid you need. Any student receiving a 2026–27 federal aid package that includes a Pell Grant, CAP Grant and KEES will have 100% of their tuition covered. Other awards range from $2,000 to $7,000. Pursue your creative dreams without the worry of mounting college debt.
Transfer Students
The Department of Art and Design welcomes transfer students. We accept transfer credits for studio art or design courses through a Portfolio Review process. Submit a portfolio of your previous work along with your transcripts, and we will determine your course placement and how your credits apply to your major.
Important: You must be admitted as a major or minor to be eligible for the Portfolio Review. We cannot review or grant course equivalencies for non-majors or non-minors.
Ready to transfer your art or design courses? Request a Portfolio Review Form by emailing hite@louisville.edu.
