PSYC 407 Community Internship in Psychology
PSYC 407 is a psychology elective that places you in 150 hours of direct, site-based service at a pre-approved local nonprofit — earning a grade and credit toward your major.
Placements are selected from a pre-approved list of community partners; students don't arrange their own.
Eligibility
- Psychology major
- Minimum 2.75 GPA
- PSYC 201, 301 and 302 completed
- Application and interview required
Plan a semester ahead. Applications are due mid-October for spring and late February for fall. Enrollment and placements are limited, so apply early.

Resilient Families Project
Majors and non-majors are invited to apply to the Resilient Families Project (RFP) at Wayside Christian Mission's Hotel Louisville, where students work alongside individuals experiencing homelessness and individuals in drug or alcohol recovery.
RFP offers direct service, program development and evaluation, research, and professional development. Programs run Thursday evenings nearly year-round, and students commit to the full program schedule for at least one semester.
