This spring, 7 Philosophy majors, 16 minors, 16 Ethics Certificate students, and 4 Health Care Ethics MA students crossed the KFC Yum! Center stage to receive their diplomas. Three Philosophy majors completed honors theses, graduating with highest distinction and summa cum laude

Lexi Frederick moved to Louisville from Independence, KY three years ago to embark on her freshman experience as a psychology major–initially terrified to discover she would have to engage in a service-learning project in the community. 

"I thought, I literally just moved here two weeks ago, and I don’t know anybody or anything. It was really scary,” she said.

Brianna Walker’s undergraduate research in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences focused on intersectionality and how children perceive adults of different ages, races, and genders in terms of their ability to use and fix technological devices. 

Celebrating Student Voices: Cardinal Compositions Volume 9 Now Available

The Department of English is proud to announce the release of Volume 9 of Cardinal Compositions—an open-access, online journal that celebrates the outstanding writing and multimodal work of undergraduate students in the Composition Program.  

This year’s edition also features select pieces from ENG 202: Introduction to Creative Writing, expanding the journal’s range and spotlighting the creative talents of UofL students.
