Tuesday Shaw began his time at UofL as a homeschool student who felt overwhelmed as a freshman, determined to maintain a rigid plan for himself and for his academic endeavors. 

But this May, Shaw graduated as a clear and confident double major and winner of the Woodcock Medal who values the magic that can come with being flexible and open to new and unexpected experiences, now headed to Moldova to study Russian as a Boren Scholar.

On her first day of volunteering in a Spanish class at St. Matthews Elementary School, Kassidy Haynes felt frazzled, new, and nervous; until she walked in and met a young boy who was crying. 

This spring, Erica Lewis led a collaborative research team including William Smith of the Portland Museum, Chad Kamen of the UofL Archives & Special Collections, and their respective UofL undergraduate interns: Emilie Zengel, Sunny Hearld, and Piper Greeby. After a semester of archival research with various local institutions, the project culminated in the Portland Museum's exhibition Line Byline: The Community Makers & Messengers of Louisville Print History, on view at the Portland Museum until its closing reception and zine release on August 29th. 

Nancy Jones will give a paper at the Comparative Drama Conference in London, England, July 9-11, 2025. The paper is titled, "Subverting through Soliloquy: How Molière Anticipated Stand-Up Comedy."

Bunny Hayes is a co-author for two chapters of a recently published book, Climate Chaos: Killing People, Places, and the Planet, edited by John Hans Gilderbloom.
